That's the greater part of why I spend so much time looking back to them. There were dirty jokes if you wanted them, but it was recognized as the crutch that it is. Like Carlin said "Dick and fart jokes sell.". In my opinion a good comedian can make you laugh without leaning on the overtly profane.
