From the post:
>Brad Sant hasn’t been to Denver in several years.
But the city thinks his car has.
And if he wants to prove otherwise, he was told he’d have to drive to Denver from his home in Grand Junction and prove it in court.
He’s the latest victim of a painful budget cut the city made last fall, which ended a court-run program that served as a “middleman” for parking disputes, often tossing out invalid tickets before they made it to court. Currently, the only way to fight a parking ticket in the city is to appear before a magistrate.
City leaders have promised Steve On Your Side a new dispute solution is coming, but the launch date for such a program remains obscure, with the mayor telling us in April that the program should be launched by the end of summer and a spokeswoman for the city’s transportation department telling us Monday the wait could stretch into early fall.
