Having worked in traffic - and having designed construction work zone traffic control plans, I have no problem with the laws being enforced in work zones. However cameras won't do shit. Studies have proven that the only thing that actually makes people slow down and obey work zone speed limits is the active presence of law enforcement. Basically cop cars along the work zone with their lights rolling.
So yes, it's a cash grab. If they jacked the fine up to say $1,000 and made a couple examples of people, it might also work. But they'd get the fines reduced because muh rights and sheeeeit. ~~~~ In high school we'd make the 4th of July fireworks run to Wyoming on I-25. Pretty much nothing north of Denver then except a couple exits near Fort Collins. Pedal to the metal for almost the entire trip. First time I drove 100 mph for a sustained period on interstate.
Yeah, I don't have problems driving slower in construction zones but no one does it. They all drive like crazy people. Its amazing there are not even MORE wrecks than there are. I think I read about 25/70 being closed at least weekly because of some dumbass crashing.
