>A number of Colorado gas stations distributed contaminated fuel to customers this week, according to King Soopers. The mixup — in which diesel fuel was apparently pumped to customers seeking regular fuel — affected gas stations at Costco, King Soopers and Murphy Express, an official at Colorado’s Division of Oil and Public Safety told 9News. The state agency did not immediately return requests for information from The Denver Post. The problem began Wednesday, King Soopers spokeswoman Jessica Trowbridge said. At least 20 King Soopers gas stations were affected, according to a statement from the company. “As soon as we became aware of the issue, we took immediate action by shutting down the impacted fuel lines and dispatching teams to perform thorough diagnostics,” Trowbridge said.
