The Northglenn Police Department said it started around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, when people holding a baby shower at the east end of E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park saw a suspicious-looking person approaching a vehicle and asked him if he was OK.
Police said the person then lit something on fire, threw it into the vehicle and ran off. The vehicle caught fire, according to police, but the people were able to put it out before officers and firefighters showed up. Police said it's not clear what the suspect threw at the car.
