People are so fucking stupid it is shocking. A few people a year are killed because they cross tracks thinking they can beat the train or they are just idiots. Don't try to beat the train, wait the 2 minutes it takes to go by (at most).

trains here take 20 to 30 minutes to pass by

For RTD its fast, they are lightrail and not very long.

There are some cities that have freight tracks that go through town, those do take a while to go by.
