You would not believe the amount of cars you see driving around with a registration that is 2+ years old. However, I do get pissed off at being taxed on something I own every year.

On the other hand... A lot of vehicles that criminal illegal aliens are driving have no registration/expired tags/etc and this is getting those vehicles towed so there is that.

From the post:

>In the first few weeks since a new law went into effect, the Aurora Police Department impounded dozens of cars. The new ordinance, Aurora Municipal Code 134-37, was passed on Sept. 23 during an Aurora City Council meeting. It says officers must have a car towed away and impounded if the car's registration is not up-to-date, the driver doesn't have a valid driver's license and they don't have insurance. It's a three-strike rule designed to increase compliance with driving rules and regulations.

Crystal Murillo raised concerns that the law would create an even bigger burden for people who don't have valid registration, insurance or a driver's license because they don't have money to pay for the basic necessities of owning a car.

Well maybe they shouldn’t have a fucking car then

How could stopping and detaining/towing people without insurance, registration, license INCREASE the amount of people doing it? Ok, first time is no big deal. Small fine, court date to force you to fix it. The end.

Next time? Same thing but points on your license. Again? license revoked for XXXX time.

However for the people that never "fix it"? Jail and because they are probably illegals, deportation and banned for life. I don't see the problem here.
