If you have not heard the story, there is a documentary on it that is fairly good. Basically the city was fucking him over and he finally said "enough".

From the post:

>The Colorado mountain town of Granby shared a message with community members on Wednesday about the infamous bulldozer rampage that happened there 20 years ago. "It's impossible to ignore the impression this event has had on those who were here twenty years ago and the continued impact this history has on our current community," Mayor Josh Hardy said in a statement.

They’re afraid of Marv becoming a martyr. He was screwed over by small town politics and let everyone know he was angry. Some people say he was a jerk, but the people who say he was a good guy outnumber those by 10-1. The one thing everyone can agree on is he built an amazing armored bulldozer. He was an expert welder. Watch the movie “Tread” to hear recordings he made explaining why he was planning the rampage, definitely some mental health issues, but also he was legitimately harmed by decisions local politicians made.

Yes, they were intentionally causing him harm and trying to ruin his life. Its too late for him, he is already seen as a martyr by many. He did not try to kill people, he did not try to shoot up some place and for the most part a lot of the buildings he went after were government or owned by those in government that were fucking him over.

He had some problems but a lot of people kind of got it. Also, I have only been to Granby a handful of times and a lot of the 'local' shops there have books about what happened to him and what he did. I know some of that is just trying to make money off it but it seems like if they were against what he did they would not allow that stuff in their store.

They bulldozed his cabin so it wouldn’t become a shrine. He transferred everything he owned to family members so nothing of his could be confiscated for restitution. He was undone by not knowing about a basement in a building and getting trapped in it.

Yeah, I have seen a lot of the original video and remember watching this going on live. It was kind of crazy but when things started coming out as to the "why" it started making more sense.

There are a few people that kind of lost the plot and decided to just "do a thing" some of them decide that means killing people, I can't respect that. Others do what he did. Another one that comes to mind is skyking.

I’m betting the local library he smashed into doesn’t carry any books that give him a fair review.
