This is the 2nd one of these in Colorado in the last 4-5 months. This is going to cost tax payers millions of dollars to re-test damn near everything this person did.

From the post: "The Weld County Sheriff’s Office fired a forensic DNA analyst this week after discovering abnormalities in her case work and plans to pursue criminal charges against her, officials announced Friday.

Following a month-long internal investigation, Chiara Wuensch was fired Wednesday from the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at the Northern Colorado Regional Forensic Lab for anomalies in her case work, violating the Weld County code of proper conduct and breaking the sheriff’s office’s standards of conduct policy, sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

The sheriff’s office will pursue criminal charges against Wuensch over the problems with her work, however just what those charges will be has yet to be determined as the criminal investigation is still ongoing, officials said."

I concluded that forensic evidence was courtroom theater when the FBI admitted some forensic unit was complete bullshit. Maybe bite marks or fibers, I don't recall.

Now we see that this person was not trained or didn't learn, wasn't supervised, and the county did not have a quality system in place to identify this sooner. Par for the course, I would believe.

Anything related to bite marks has been discredited for a long time now. However, they will still try to use it in court to sway a jury and if you don't have a good lawyer you are fucked because too many people watch "cop shows" and think they are detectives now.
