That Ace Hardware they are talking about? It was in Denver area news a few months ago saying they are shutting down for good because of the crime and the city doing nothing. It had been there for ~23 years.

Yeah it's a tough call how small a government can be bad be TOO small. My gut tells me that it is a heck of a lot smaller than we can imagine today. Stuff like homogenization of populations will happen easily. The real dangerous actors will get a Darwin award in a hurry. Stuff like that. I think that just a smidge outside of feudal warlord anarchy and into "loose local voluntary confederation" is ideal.
