Article appears 4 days after local town board votes to prevent short term rentals in condos; town trustees hope that second homeowners will rent to locals who will trash their place rather than rent short term (nightly, profitable) and use the condos for themselves occasionally. Or hope this will tank the real estate market so inventory will open up. Having had both short and long term renters in my condo, this decision makes me only want to rent short term, I don’t like government telling me what I can do with my property.
