So I've decided to abandon ship here in California and head east to Colorado Springs. I'm a single white male, mid 30's, no kids, self employed/work from home. Can any of you poaler bears give me any advice or insight as to what it's like living there? And before you start the whole "we don't need anymore Californians," I was born in Denver(native) and I HATE the government, so I'm not a california liberal. I'd actually like to get involved so Colorado does't go full retard like Cali. I checked out the COS reddit and have done my due diligence besides that, but would be interested to see what this community thinks. One comment on reddit said something along of the lines of "Colorado Springs is full of skinheads." Haha, is that a bad thing?

First off, Colorado is a blue state. Critical race theory is big there, if you use that as a metric. However,

Yeah I know its blue, but still more red than california. Colorado springs is a little more conservative than Denver, granted that's going as it gets bigger too.

DONT. it’s not a safe place. Crime, homeless, drugs, gangs, weird gruesome crime, human trafficking.

weirdly high levels of road rage as well, something is wrong with the springs/Denver/Pueblo area. May be in the water, may be some frequent y expirament.

Yes. There is something wrong there, it’s recent (within 5 years). All locals I know who lived there their whole life have said so and left. Much of the truly horrific crime doesn’t get reported ( cop friend there) as it’s like a Stephen king novel when he wants to truly give you nightmares. North part of town is best if you are going to, at a minimum invest in front and rear dash cams and house surveillance and a personal concealed weapon.

I think it may be some sort of weird gov or military test on the population. Nothing else fits the data. Northern Idaho is lovely, Montana is great, northeast Tennessee is great, isolated pockets elsewhere.
