A thin fleece jacket does sound nice. Clothing in my area is not great, I'm lucky to find more than one good piece in a year, plus all the stores are in the next town over, so I don't go often. Scarves aren't just tools of gay flamboyance, their purpose is to keep your neck and chest warm. I go with a thick, flat folded Army scarf, so it doesn't make lumps on my chest under the jacket. I used to wear it over, but it kept falling off, or I had to keep adjusting it. One day I put it on first and threw the jacket on over it, and my life was changed, it actually kept me warm and couldn't fall out of place. I think this how this type of scarf was meant to be worn, it's too short to tie or loop.
