You're a moron for assuming that everyone driving electric cars is doing it to "claim they're green." I do it because the total lifetime operating cost is less than half of that for a gasoline car. I have saved over $25,000 in the last 11 years. I would still do it if it was worse than gas for pollution.
Now you're just making shit up. TCO on almost every single electric car is WAY over that of an ICE driven car. In fact, at todays cost of electricity, it even costs more per mile to drive them.

So you are a moron for certain. At $4 a gallon, a gas car getting 40 mpg costs $0.10 per mile. Even at California electricity prices of $0.20/kWh it costs $0.04 - $0.06 per mile depending on how stupid the driver is (if you can't get window sticker mileage in your vehicle, you're on the stupid end).
