The subtle evil of it is that there isn't anything *wrong* with any of them, except that they are completely empty of substance. At best, they deal with feelings and trappings of Christmas: food, bells, colors, etc... At worst, they introduce an *alter Christus* to replace the Nativity Story. This is why *A Charlie Brown Christmas* is still amazing to watch. A sarcastic and witty attack on commercialism followed by a reading from the Gospels.
