I've always seen estimates around 110. Though some people do dispute that.
IQ is tough to measure and a lot of it depends on the measurer.
Really, the ability for abstract thinking is one of the best hallmarks of intelligence, but it is also the hardest to measure since the most abstract thinkers are not the ones making the tests.
Another aspect is memory. Some people are not necessarily that smart but have a great memory, which will make them appear very smart on some tests.
Then, there is education. People with great education don't have to be that smart, but have been taught abstract concepts to the extent that they are able to understand them, but would never have been able to self teach them.
Combine all three... a person with the ability for abstract thought, a great memory and a great education and they are going to do a lot better on these tests and, to me, that is generally a "smart person." Also, smart does not mean moral. So, value is limited for high IQ people. There are tons of lazy high IQ people who don't succeed because they have no work ethic.
Lots to think about, when I see these studies... ultimately.
I'm watching a movie but I will respond to this in the future.
I'm going to make a post some time to address these points. I promise I did forget to respond.
