Perhaps that is an accurate depiction of that particular church. But even if so, it doesn’t negate the benefits of a good premarital counseling track.
Some people don’t know how to properly cook a steak, but that doesn’t mean that steak in general is bad.
Honestly her family makes a great pre martial counselor group, since they ask all the questions that need answering. I feel like counseling itself is not the problem, church mandated demands for counseling for a condition of their services to me makes it scummy, it feels like coersion at that point
That makes sense. So don’t go to that church then. But you should still get premarital counseling, and not from her family, but from an objective professional source.

i egt mixed advice on this, some of the people within that church said to not do it, and most people agree its a waste, but the pastor wont marry us without it, so now im just super confused
