Because humans have free will.

This is a contested issue in Biblical theology, but I find it rather clear.

Humans are made in God's image, God has a will of his own. Thus, humans have a will of their own.

Ok, but why doesn't God stop all the bad shit humans do?

Because if God snapped his fingers and fixed everything each time humans made a bad choice, then humans wouldn't have a will of their own.

Why would God make evil people?

He didn't. Adam and Eve let sin into the world by eating of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Why did God put that tree in the Garden of Eden in the first place?

Because if Adam and Eve had no opportunity to sin, they wouldn't have a will of their own. They would be incapable of doing anything other than the right thing.

Why does God care about us having free will?

Because God made humans to have a relationship with us. If we didn't have a will of our own, then a relationship with us would be pointless. Your relationships are meaningful because the other person doesn't have to be your friend/spouse/mentor/etc. but they are anyway.

In the same way, God doesn't want to have a relationship with robots. He wants us to willingly enter into a relationship with Him. Just as a father wants a relationship with his children, so too does God want a relationship with us.

There was a very interesting video I saw a few years back where a guy died and went to I think heaven and hell. In his adventures he saw that God existed outside of earth and only existed in the spiritual realm in terms of how we perceive reality. The guy came off pretty believable but his concept of how he saw heaven / hell / earth / God was very interesting and got me exploring. The more I researched the more the pieces fit together, very akin to what you posted, how we are made in God's image, so if God has X attribute then we would have it too.

I went a little deeper for myself and flipped the logic. If we are like X, then God must be like that too. Ie we have a body, mind and spirit. God exists in three persons - Jesus (body), the Father (mind) and the Holy Spirit (spirit). It lines up and makes total sense you know?

Hit me up if you want to discuss any of this further. I spent several years really digging into various topics on Christianity and the Bible.

Parting note: check out the Bible, specifically the New Testament translated from Aramaic! That is a real mind job. The theory is that much of the New Testament was originally passed on verbally and the language of the Disciples, Paul etc was Aramaic. It was translated / written in Greek to be more available to the masses, but the original text was Aramaic. Dave Baucher (sp?) actually has some proofs he goes into to prove that the NT was written in Aramaic.

Good luck bro
