Looking at the book of Enoch, and the punishments for our behaviors are ... atrocious to say the least. What I find interesting is the canon removes the book of Enoch from the Bible, but I can completely see why. It's essentially the missing link that explains everything else, it explains the giants, the miscegenation, the wild sex parties, being led by lust, the Aryan race, etc. However, in our quest (or really the jews) to be tolerant as a society, and equating being devious as being noble and being a sinner as to be sinless, it seems we have completely detracted from the ways of God. Romans goes into great detail about our end times too, by showing God will let people be led by their impulses into complete chaos. Revelation further enhances the point too. It seems the time for payback and wrath is fast approaching us
