If what you hate is something God would hate, then no.
Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
A righteous man hates falsehood, But a wicked man acts disgustingly and shamefully.
Hate evil, love good, And establish justice in the gate!
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows.
Yet this you do have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
Hate evil, you who love the Lord, Who preserves the souls of His godly ones; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away;
and my favorite:
Do I not hate those who hate You, O LORD, and detest those who rise against You? I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them as my enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart;
By Christian tenets, hatred of someone is a sin. It's also unproductive. Hate eats away at the person experiencing the hatred, without harming the person hated in the least. Hate is a self-destructive emotion. That's why so many people try to transform hate into scorn and ridicule. These emotions are less self-destructive. It's a self-preservation reflex to mock and laugh at someone you would otherwise hate. Both emotions are wrong for Christians, who should offer love to others where possible, and remain neutral in their emotions where it is not possible. Put the hatred on Jesus, and let him carry it, by saying "God's will, not mine, be done." If God wants to strike down the person you hate, God will do so.
(Galatians 5:19-21 KJV) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
(Matthew 5:43-44 KJV) Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.
(1 John 3:15 KJV) Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
(1 John 4:20 KJV) If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
If you hate sin and evil deeds, you do well. In Christ, there is either love or hate for a person. There is no middle ground; like indifference. The parable of the good samaritan is an example of this. Many people give into temptation to do evil things. The hatred of their evil ways is good, but you must look at the person as being deceived as to fall for the temptation to do evil. They are a living soul and should be loved as such, just as Jesus did for those who hated Him.
Without cause, yes.
if you are good person then you would only hate evil, so i guess if you hate something "without cause" you are simply not a good person.
There is no such thing as "sin". It is imaginary. So hate as much as you want.
Is there such thing as right and wrong? What a foolish statement! Can't wait to see where this goes (probably to a logical black hole).
There isn't such thing as right or wrong, it is a matter of subjective perspective that is nothing more then biochemical compound of different substances in brains.
If that is the case, then your statement has no truth value. Is refutes itself.
Do you really wander into the "Christian" section of a website to try and convince us that there is no objective reality? Get lost! Oh wait, you already are.
Forgetting they exist is way easier. Hating someone takes up too much time & energy.
if you don't lose track of the truth in your hatred, then I would say that you are not living in sin.
hate = strongly dislike (preferences)
Just say you strongly dislike. If it is 'ill will' desiring harm to someone then it goes to sin territory.
