The way i see it, i would rather die than ask for any kind of handout or charity. even today, i had the option to ask for help when it comes to some house stuff, or do it myself. and i came to the conclusion i could do it myself. i've also come to the conclusion that bitching aobut my problems to others is a futile endeavor. nobody gives a crap, and they have their own problems anyways, so they clearly dont care about your own. so then, what is it about pride that i'm missing? or like all other concepts, did this one also get kiked to hell and beyond?

The sinful kind of pride is haughty, boastful, seeks to glorify oneself instead of the God that makes the bearer of sinful pride. Yours is simply having integrity, being unwilling to be a parasite is no sin, my excellent friend.

I think what makes so many new age churches is that finding answers to my questions is becoming really hard. Im not exactly asking hard hitting questions here, and yet to find someone who can be honest with themselves and God makes my journey that much tougher. Or maybe that's the whole point, that the journey IS hard

There is nothing wrong with being self sufficient and leading a quiet and tranquil life. Pride comes in when we fail to recognize God's work in our lives and instead glorify our own doings. Pride, in its essence, makes us god and leaves out God Almighty. Realization of our sin and shortcomings should lead us to humbly seek the Savior Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our prideful works and ways.

If the King James Version was good enough for Moses, it’s good enough for me.

Which Moses are you speaking of? It isn't the Great Flood Moses...

When it makes someone feel smaller, its a sin.

Any more questions?

I have a concurrent question in my post history if you want to answer that one

Being too proud to ask for help when you need it is probably a bad thing.

I’m thinking to look for aide myself if they are giving it and it is covid related the issues are there.

I don't need help, and will never need it. And the absolute last thing I need is assholes judging me about said help. Heck today, I could have used help moving some stuff around my house, but I did the logical thing which is to do it myself. Turns out I didn't really need help anyways. Same with others paying stuff for me, it will be a cold day in hell before someone picks up my lunch tab

I don’t think asking for help to ie move stuff is a bad thing. People like to help.

Asking for hand outs is more of an economic thing. We don’t design the economy, policy does. It doesn’t do anything if you want to act capitalist in a communist economy.

Every time I asked my mom or dad for help when I was a kid, I was routinely lambasted, and teased for being a fucking faggot. To ask for help is to show weakness, and I will not stand for being a weak faggot.

Because pride precedes downfall.

Do you think you're better than other people?

[–] 1 pt

Kinda, is that really pride? When someone is debasing themselves and has no shame, guilting people into handouts and I'm not. Am I allowed to look down on that person? I say yes.

[–] 1 pt

No, not in the slightest. I've come to the conclusion that everyone has problems, and that I am but one of many. In that regard, I see my presence on others as more of a nuisance than anything else

[–] 0 pt

Well that's why you're a good person.

Because He knew it'd turn gay as aids some day

There is a huge difference between dignity and pride.

Pride diminishes other people. Pride puffs up the person who has it, and it can only do this by diminishing the importance and status of others. But Jesus says we are all children of God, equal in importance in his sight. The harlot in the marketplace is no less worthy of protection than the king in his palace.

It's not. Excess is. That's the point. Learn to read moshe.
