Something i've been pondering, which may be a mis interpretation of bibilical standards. if its a sin to lust, how does one get married or date? wouldn't the initial attraction towards someone be a sin, since jesus himself says "but i tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (matthew 5:28). so really, doesn't this prove that an arranged marriage is the only way?

No one makes it through life without sinning. But I think the intended message here is to not indulge your baser instincts. It's one thing to seek a wholesome marriage, it's another to ogle women who are off limits and openly express your lust. I don't take this to mean it's wrong to think or say of a woman "I would be lucky to have such a beautiful wife". I take it to mean don't say and try not to even think "Check out the sweet ass on that one! There are so many things I'd like to do to her in bed!", particularly when she's not yours to take.
