5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? - James 2:5 (KJV)

God doesn’t love the poor more than the rich, but the poor of this world tend to love Him more, as the deceitfulness of riches tends to steal the word from you (Mark 4:19). The rich people in this world, tend to fall into the trap of trusting in their riches, and you cannot serve both money and God (Matthew 6:24), making it difficult for a rich person to make Jesus, Lord of their lives. Notice that God has chosen those that are rich in faith, as faith is what pleases God (Hebrews 11:6), and you must have a lot of faith to believe in things that you cannot sense with your five physical senses. You must have faith to believe in the spiritual realm, as it cannot be detected any other way.

What a wonderful thought it is, to be an heir of the kingdom of God (Galatians 4:7), and a son of the Almighty God. All we have to do, is to believe in, and love, Jesus, and make Him our Lord (Romans 10:9-10), by confessing Him, and believing in our hearts that He was raised from the dead. This is the Gospel of Jesus, which is the “Good News” that we are to tell others about, but so many churches have fallen into the trap of teaching that you must do all kinds of works, to be pleasing to God. That is not Good News. The Good News is that Jesus did all those works for us (Matthew 5:17), and earned righteousness by the works of the law, and then gave that righteousness to us, who believe in Him for salvation. Praise God for the Grace gift of salvation, to those that will just accept and believe in His Son, Jesus.
