Jesus said those who followed in his footsteps and did has he was doing would go to heaven. He didn't say we had to believe he was God. He didn't even believe he was God, until the very end when he began to believe his own mythology.
I keep telling myself that I'm going to quit wasting time with you heretics, but I could use the time in the Word...
HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN, according to Jesus (in John)
You must be born again. John 3:3
You must be born of water and [of] the Spirit. John 3:5
You must believe in Jesus. John 3:16
You must believe in the name of Jesus. John 3:18
You must drink the water that He gives. John 4:14
You must worship God in spirit and in truth. John 4:24
You must hear the words of Jesus and believe the one who sent Him. John 5:24
You must come to Jesus. John 5:40
You must see the Son and believe in Him John 6:40
Obviously I could go on. To claim that Jesus didn't believe He was God is just stupid. I don't know if you are being willfully difficult, dishonest with yourself about what you think you've read, merely repeating what others have said... one way or another, you have failed to see what is in the text. Why not ask God to open your eyes the next time you read? (I know why not; it was rhetorical)
"Destroy this temple, and I will raise it up in three days." ... He was speaking about the temple of his body. John 2:19f
Jesus predicted His death and resurrection. He raised Himself from the dead. You don't think he thought he was divine?!?
"Your sins are forgiven." Matthew 9:2
Then Jesus healed the guy, to prove that He had the authority to forgive sins - which only God can do.
Your arguments are sad, old, and ill-informed. I'm nothing close to a Biblical scholar, and even I can refute them.
It is clear that you don't want to believe in the Creator as revealed in the Bible and in the person of Jesus. He is divisive! (John 7:43)
Perhaps you will sincerely ask Him to open your eyes.
