So...what is sin?

9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. - 1 John 2:9-10 (KJV)
The term light is used in the bible for God and His righteousness, so this is saying that if you say you are walking after the Spirit, in righteousness, and yet hate your brother, then you are not telling the truth. You can not be full of God and hate at the same time, as God is love (1 John 4:8), and to be full of God, you have to be full of love for others. The bible uses “darkness” to represent evil, and the devil, and if you aren’t full of God (love), then you must be full of evil (devil), as you are either serving God, or the devil (Romans 6:16). Those that say they are self-made people, and not serving either one, are fooled, as if not God, it is always the devil, as either it is light (God), or the absence of light, which is darkness (devil).
If you have the love of God in you then you will be abiding in the light and you will love others, as Jesus commanded us to do (John 13:34). By showing love toward others, the world will know that you belong to Jesus (John 13:35), and you will be letting your light shine in this dark world. Jesus said that love for God, and for your neighbor, would fulfill the entire law (Matthew 22:37-40), and that changed our doing things under the law, to just letting the love of God flow through us to others. First you need to let God give you His unconditional AGAPE type of love, by letting Him love you then you will be able to express this kind of love to others. You can’t give away, what you have never received, so fill yourself with the love of God (1 John 4:8), and let your light shine (Matthew 5:16) – praise God for His wonderful love.
