24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; - Heb 9:24-25 (KJV)

Jesus did not enter into the man-made tabernacle to atone for us, but He entered into the very tabernacle of God in heaven, to sprinkle His blood on the mercy seat for our atonement. This is after Jesus was resurrected and returned to heaven (Mark 16:19), to sit at the right hand of the Father. By this one atonement for us, Jesus has cleansed us of all our unrighteousness, and our sins are completely done away with, and we now can enter into the very presence of God (Hebrews 10:19). The reason that Jesus came to earth to atone for our sins, was because the Father desired to have fellowship with us again (John 17:3), which is what eternal life is. We tend to think it was all about us, but it wasn’t, as it was because God is love (1 John 4:8), and loved us so much, that He sent Jesus to save us and bring us back to fellowship with Him. We need to realize that Jesus died because the Father wanted to fellowship with His creation again, not because we are so desirable.

Hebrews has been comparing the way the Old Testament priests had to sacrifice blood offerings over, and over, to atone for the sins of the Jews, but Jesus did so just once (Hebrews 9:12), and gave us eternal redemption. The churches that teach you lose your salvation each time you sin, and you must get the sin back under the blood, just ignore these scriptures, as they make it clear that we have eternal redemption, not just until we sin again. Our sins, past, present, and even future ones, have been forgiven already (Jeremiah 31:34), if you are born again, and sin is no longer causing us separation from the Lord. Praise God for Jesus.
