18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. - Acts 17:18 (KJV)

Paul was in Athens, and these Greek philosophers were meeting daily to hear any new doctrine, or about any new Gods. Paul met with them, and started teaching Jesus to them, and they were interested for awhile. This same attitude is in the world today, and so many carnal people think that Christians are just babblers, and don’t make any sense. We need to all be like Paul, and tell the Gospel to any, and all, that will listen to us. Paul was also teaching the Jews (Acts 17:17) in the synagogue, as he was prone to do everywhere he went. Paul was so on fire for God, that he would teach to anyone who was around, and we should take a lesson from him.

Paul was knowledgeable about Greek literature, and he used the fact that they believed in an unknown god (Acts 17:23), along with many others, and he told them that the true God was the unknown god they had an alter for. We need to learn from Paul, and find ways to make Jesus interesting to those who don’t know Him. One way is to make Jesus relative to their lives, whether it is by healing their bodies, financial, peace, joy, etc., we need to make our Jesus appeal to their lives now, and not just in the future. If we would teach the full Gospel of Jesus, it would include healing, financial, and all the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Most unsaved people are lacking in joy and peace in their lives, and it is because they don’t have the Spirit of God living in them, and they look for relief through drugs, alcohol, sex, etc. Let Christ live through you, and let your light shine (Matthew 5:16), so that people will want what you have, and then be sure and tell them about Jesus. Let’s all shine, so we will light up this dark world – Praise God.
