22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. - John 17:22-23 (KJV)
Jesus is praying for His disciples, and it includes us, who have been born again, and remained in His Word (John 8:31). Just think about what this is saying, as Jesus is saying that we have been given the same glory that the Father gave Him - Wow. If us Christians could ever realize the tremendous gifts and glory that we have inside us, we would live a different life than what we do. We are one with the Father, and have the very spirit of Jesus living in us (Galatians 4:6), as well as the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:8), meaning that the whole Godhead is living in the born again Christian, making us one with the Father. What more could we want?
Being one with the Father, and having Jesus and the Holy Ghost living in us, is what gives us the power to do the works that Jesus did while on earth, and commanded us to do (John 14:12). We are supposed to be able to heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead, make the lame walk and the blind to see, and what are we doing in our prayer closets, asking the Lord to do these things for us? When are we Christians going to start doing the works that Jesus told us to do, and quit begging God for things that He has already given to us? The church has become powerless in this modern day, and we need to take our authority and use what God has put under our control, and do the works that Jesus did. If we would just do so, what a revival it would cause, and the Lord is waiting for us to quit asking for revival, and start creating one. Praise God, let’s do it.
