17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. - Romans 10:17 (KJV)
God’s kind of faith only comes by hearing or reading God’s Word, as that is the only way faith is imparted to us. There are two types of faith, human faith that all humans have, and God’s kind of faith that comes from the Word of God, and is given to born again believers as a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). God’s kind of faith gives us the ability to see, and understand, things in the spiritual world, that we can not see with our human eyes. You must have the heart felt faith that comes from God’s Word before you can be saved, as you must believe in a God that you can’t see, and in Jesus who you haven’t seen, so you must have the supernatural faith of God to believe unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).
You must have God’s kind of faith to be able to walk after the spirit, instead of the flesh, as it requires believing in things you can’t see or know with your five physical senses. The more you walk after, and live in, the spirit, the more pleasing to God your life is, as faith is what pleases God (Hebrews 11:6). Most Christians that I have been around don’t spend much time in reading the Word of God, and you can not keep your faith active by just going to church once a week, and hearing the preacher read scripture to you. The only way to stay close with God, and remain in faith, is to read, and study, the bible, and few people truly do that. Get to really know God by reading the bible, and letting the Holy Spirit quicken it to you, and you will stay full of faith, and have the faith strong enough to do the works that Jesus commanded us to do (John 14:12). To assure our eternal salvation you must obey Jesus (Hebrews 5:9). Praise God for giving us His faith.
