Daily Devotional

July 1

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Matt 24:14-15 (KJV)

This verse is where Jesus was answering the question from the disciples, about when the end times would come, and the signs of the end times. Jesus is saying that the gospel (good news of our salvation) must be preached in all the world, to all nations, before the end comes, and He returns to rule the earth (Revelation 19:15). With all the satellites and Christian television channels reaching all the world in this day and time, we can be assured that the end times are real close. When we see all the end time signs, we are told to look up and rejoice (Luke 21:28), as our redemption draws nigh. All of us, who are born again, should look forward to the return of Jesus, as it will begin our eternal life of being with the Father and Jesus (Revelation 21:3). Praise God – I can hardly wait.

Man has added the verse and chapter breakdown to the original scriptures, and I, and many others, believe the last part of verse 14 (after the semi-colon) belongs to verse 15, saying that the end will come after the beast stands in the temple of God and declares that he is god (Daniel 11:31 & 12:11). God will not share His Glory with anyone.
