It's a hard topic, because the people are really nice, but some of the quirks are a little out there. For one, this church is incredibly white, and incredibly racist. They have no fear over using the word nigger, or explaining things as they are. On the other hand, they also have many issues.

The first one is the constant calls for money. Not a big deal, churches dont run themselves, however, the boasting and bragging is getting a bit much. You should not be proclaiming you need more money when you brag you just hit record breaking highs for charity revenue. This also becomes annoying, because they seem to take on way too many projects outside of the church, instead of the community. The end result is fractured finances all over the place, were helping people in Africa, people in South America, etc. I feel like this may not a big deal, but what about our own homeless? They can just die in a gutter?

The second issue is that the church has admitted to conceding to bring in more converts. This has caused multitude of issues, because the bible says homosexuality is bad. It does not say, its good because a majority outside the church agree it to be so. Same with many issues from fornication to tithing. In their quest to save more people though, they also ignore the existing members, focusing only on membership numbers. I heard about one pastor who shut his church group down because he wasn't happy more people weren't saved, so he pretty much left all the Chrsitian members in the dark, and impulsively shit canned the group.

Maybe im overthinking it

I mean, the white and racist part is good but the money grubbing and faggot loving sounds really jewish to me. Are you sure they aren't a bunch of "fellow white people"?

They seemed cool at first, but they are very white, non jewish. I think they are just more concerned with membership numbers over any form of integrity, hence the issues im seeing. Most questions I ask have also been ignored, because they are relatively complicated to answer and require thought. For example, if lusting is a sin, then how do you get married? Of course the answer has to do with the intent of lusting and not lusting itself, so the answer is quite clear when you understand old vs new. But yeah, a lot of times i have to ask poal or figure it out myself because im not really getting help from them on my sprituality

I am not sure Poal is the right group to be asking for help with your spirituality.

But that church, clearly needs to take a close look at what it is doing. It should be helping its members first.

Have a look around at some other churches in your area. Try giving the pastors or deacons a call and see what sort of response you get and how they look from that perspective. If the leadership is poor, the result will be poor.
