20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. - 1 John 5:20 (KJV)

Jesus didn’t just come to save us, but He came to give us so much more. He gave us His Spirit to live inside us (Galatians 4:6), and this Spirit has the mind of Christ in it (1 Corinthians 2:16), which means we have the mind of Christ living in us, if born again. Wow! As we renew our minds, we will be able to understand the things of God, as we have His understanding within us.

We can only know God if we renew our minds by studying the Word of God, and giving ourselves to Him (Romans 12:1-2). When you believe on Jesus and get born again (Romans 10:9-10), the very Spirit of Jesus comes in and lives inside you (John 14:23), and gives you eternal life. Eternal life is not just living forever, as everyone will do that, but it is to know, (in a personal way), the Father and Jesus Christ (John 17:3). This eternal life and relationship with God and Jesus, we have now in this life, and not just after we die. The fact that the very Spirit of Jesus comes to live in us, is what makes us a part of His body (the church), and we become one with Him and the Father. So, when born again, you are filled with the full God-head, and if you have been baptized with the Holy Ghost, you have the very power of God living within you (John 14:26). The Holy Ghost is the one that is called the Comforter, and He teaches you all things. He is essential to being able to understand the spiritual things in the bible. Praise God for the Holy Ghost living in us, who are born again.

Do you really think everyone will live forever? What about the second death?

[–] 0 pt

Everyone's spirit will live forever. Death in the bible, many times, refers to separation from God, and is not always referring to physical death. Thanks for the question, and for reading God's word. Love, Pastor Joe.
