35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. - Heb 10:35-36 (KJV)
Having confidence is very important in the Christians life. If you are not confident that your salvation is complete, then you will not be able to enjoy the fruit of the spirit, like joy, peace, etc (Galatians 5:22-23). Faith is what is necessary to please God (Hebrews 11:6), and you must have confidence for your faith to work. You must not only believe that God is real, but you must be confident that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. A person, who is not confident in their salvation, and the promises of God, is one whose faith is not working properly, or is not truly born again. A born again Christian should be completely confident in the promises made by God.
When we follow God’s leading, then we must wait with patience for our efforts to produce fruit (Luke 8:15). Patience is just faith over a period of time, and is necessary for us to have before we can be at peace in our lives. Patience is what makes a person perfect and complete (James 1:4). How do we get patience? It comes through the Scriptures (Romans 15:4). The more you study God’s Word, and put it into your heart, the more your patience will improve. Having confidence and patience is absolutely necessary for you to enjoy the real peace and prosperity that the bible promises. Thank you Lord for giving us your Word!
