8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. - Eph 6:8 (KJV)
It is an amazing fact that God looks at how we serve others in this world, as if we were serving Him (Matthew 25:40). Even in such a small matter as giving a drink to one of God’s children, God will reward us (Matthew 10:42). When we serve others (work for others) we are to do it as if we were working for the Lord (Ephesians 6:5). We are not to think of ourselves as servants of man, but we have been bought with a price, and should realize that we are only servants of the Lord (1 Corinthians 7:3).
When we realize that all our advancements actually come from the Lord, and not by man (Psalms 75:6-7), then we will want to serve our bosses just as we would serve the Lord (Ephesians 6:7). Because we, who have been born again, now have the righteousness of Jesus in us, we should live our lives, and do our work, as Jesus would want us to. When we die to ourselves, and let Christ live through us, we will truly live the Christian life, and be the representative that we should be for Christ. When we live our lives in a holy manner, we not only let our light shine, and glorify our Lord, but we keep the devil from having an inroad into our lives, and he just wants to destroy us (John 10:10). When you live a righteous life, and let your light shine, then you will shine forth in the Kingdom of God when we get to heaven (Matthew 13:43). Do everything as to the Lord, and know that your reward will be great. Thank you Lord for loving us so much.
