That's pretty clunky. If you pardon the long quote:
Then the disciples came up and asked Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”
He answered them, “Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them. For whoever has, more will be given to him, and he will have more than enough. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. For this reason I speak to them in parables, because looking they do not see, and hearing they do not listen or understand. Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says:
You will listen and listen, yet never understand; and you will look and look, yet never perceive.
God has a purpose, a goal, a desired outcome of everything He does. To give a proper treatment to the question you ask would probably require us to go into what God's purposes/goals are (people knowing him? Communicating truth to some/all?), what his methods are (including obscuring things), and how effective those methods are at accomplishing the goal.
Seems like a lot for Poal.
Until every nation and every tongue.
FROM every nation and tongue
Like I said, I don't think we're going to get to the bottom of this. I'm spending some serious time writing, and I get a six word misquote in reply!
I was referring to
>Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people.
