15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. - 2 Cor 9:15 (KJV)
Paul had been saying that the gifts (money) that the church was sending to the saints in Jerusalem, would cause them to give thanks to God, and would lead them to pray for the Corinthian church (2 Corinthians 9:11-12). This shows that when we give to our brothers in Christ, and help them, it will lead them to give thanks to God, and that will glorify God. We need to help our brothers every chance we get, if we can (James 1:22), so that we will show God’s love flowing through us, and bring thanks and glory to God. Show compassion to others at all times, and let God’s love abound through you to others (1 John 2:5).
This verse is thanking God for sending Jesus to be our Savior, and we need to think on this at all times. We can not ever thank God enough for our salvation, and as it is written, we should praise Him at all times (Psalm 34:1). What a unspeakable gift it was to save us from destruction, when we could not save ourselves. Our human righteousness was as filthy rags in the sight of God (Isaiah 64:6), and we could never fulfill the requirements of the law on our own. So Jesus had to come and fulfill it for us (Matthew 5:17), and impart His righteousness to us (Romans 3:22), so that we could appear righteous to the Father again. We can never thank God enough for doing this for us, as otherwise we all would be going to hell for eternity. Praise God for His plan of salvation – Thank you Jesus!
