44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. - John 6:44 (KJV)

Man is so lacking in faith that he can not come to Jesus, unless the Holy Spirit draws him. Us humans think we are gods on our own, and don’t believe we need the real God, unless the Holy Spirit comes and convicts us otherwise. Isaiah told us that we need to come to the Lord while He is near (Isaiah 55:6), because if we don’t respond to the Holy Spirit when He calls us, then He may not call us a second time (Revelation 22:11), and then we would be doomed to hell. If you resist the call of the Holy Spirit, and reject Him repeatedly He will quit calling you, and you will become reprobate, and doomed to hell (Romans 1:28).

Many people do not respond to the calling of the Holy Spirit, and do not see why they should, as the church does not teach that it has any bearing on this present life, but is only for our eternal destiny. This is a big fault of the church, as if we were showing people how much benefit being a Christian is in this present life, by healing sickness, financial prosperity, deliverance from the devil, and all the other Gifts and Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), then people would want salvation now. If everyone just knew how wonderful the joy and peace of serving the Lord is then I know they would respond to the call of the Holy Spirit to salvation. If all Christians would do the works Jesus told us to, then we would have revival (John 14:12). It is human nature to put off things when they don’t see immediate benefit to having them. Many people will end up in hell, because us Christians are not letting them know of all the benefits we have in this present life, when we are born again. Praise God for His love and promises to us - His children!
