16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. - James 3:16-17 (KJV)
This is a fact we all need to realize, as if you have envying and strife in your life, this tells us that it will allow the devil to come in. The beginning of strife is contention, and contention is caused by pride (Proverbs 13:10). This is one reason that the Lord tells us to be humble (not proud) throughout the bible. Since confusion is not caused by God (1 Corinthians 14:33), that means it is caused by the devil, and will allow him to have access to you, bringing into your life every evil work. You don’t want to allow the devil to have that kind of inroad into your life so you must stay away from all envying and strife at all times. Do not allow strife in your family as the devil comes only to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10).
God’s wisdom, that we receive when we are born again, has all these characteristics, and when we use His wisdom we will exhibit these qualities. The born again Christian has this wisdom in his spirit, and when you walk after the spirit, you will demonstrate these qualities. The fruit of the Spirit that Christians have within them will enable these qualities to be in evidence (Galatians 5:22-23). All mature Christians, who are walking after the Spirit, will demonstrate these qualities, and if they don’t, it means they are walking after the flesh. Us humans will find it impossible to have these qualities in our life, unless we die to ourselves and let Christ live through us, as the carnal man does not have these qualities. Let your light shine by living a life that is Christ like (Matthew 5:16) and you will glorify God. If you are full of God’s (AGAPE) kind of love, then you will not have trouble showing these traits, as it is all about love, and God is love (1 John 4:8). Praise God!
