If by counterfeits, you mean lies, I agree. They are used to influence people, not to tell any truths. I'll go further, anything printed or recorded that is cited as official are lies too. I can't think of any information regarded as official that is more than propaganda.

Yes and No. A counterfeit is a lie, but no I don't agree that everything is a lie. I know it's easy to believe everything is a lie because everything is so corrupt in our time and throughout history there has been much corruption, but it's a blanket statement. Not everything is corrupt. There are today and there were good people throughout history who would rather die than go along with corruption. There are countless martyrs like this who would rather go to their death than go along with error. A Christian is one who is willing to give his life over to truth (Christ) than to give his life over to lies (devil).
I like how eloquently you stated truth and presented it biblical terms. You are correct. I was greatly over simplifying the lies. There lies the problem. So many lies and truth is usually the casualty. One thing is certain to me and that is few will tell you the truth, you must look for it. Many people are intellectually lazy and/or stupid as they parrot whatever they hear first or whatever is loudest. Usually the lie.
