Dude, I know about all that. I was not raised a Christian, and used to completely agree with you roughly ten years ago. If Christianity shuts off my critical thinking skills, as you say, then why am I in full possession of my critical thinking faculty ?
then why am I in full possession of my critical thinking faculty ?
You aren't. That's the paradox. A person who isn't self-aware can't tell if he is self-aware or not.
(((Christianity))) has striped this faculty from you. You are trying to run a diagnostic program, but the diagnostic program is faulty.
I think a better explanation for the observed phenomena is that your worldview cannot handle the possibility that a truly free agent can reasonably arrive at Christianity through rational, reasonable observation, and thereby making sense out of the events of this life.
Because if a person could freely arrive at Christianity as a reasonable explanation for the universe, then you may actually be held accountable for your refusal.
It is a default presuppositional position that you hold. Your worldview depends upon it.
I am perfectly willing to concede the possibility that I may be mistaken in my position. But it’d take a lot of explaining of many intimate details of my personal life, both before and after becoming Christian, because in my experience it was my Rational Empiricism which led me to Orthodoxy.

Oh, a free agent can arrive there. It's not rational. It would be like willingly giving yourself over to a slaver. Why would a free agent sacrifice his freedom with no leverage to bargain? Yes, a free agent CAN do that. What most likely happened is, you THOUGHT you were bargaining, Maybe you mistook the slaver for a temp agency. Maybe the slaver lied to you and told you you would be rewarded. He called the reward "salvation", but in reality, it's just slavery.
You work for a reward that will only come after you die. Don't you find this suspicious? No, of course you don't.

It sounds more like the posturing of a Jew-God who wants you to think he is more powerful than he really is. What if THAT is true? What if your Jew-God lied to you?
then you may actually be held accountable for your refusal.
I'll meet your Jew-God in the field of battle at Ragnarök. It will be an interesting day.
It is a default presuppositional position that you hold. Your worldview depends upon it.
You'll have to explain yourself. I'm not sure what you are specifically saying here. The only "dogma" I hold is that I believe in my people. It's not a "Worldview" it's a "Tribeview".
I am perfectly willing to concede the possibility that I may be mistaken in my position.
OK, let's test your diagnostic utility. What is the biggest criticism you have of YOUR PERSONAL Christian belief? Not that crazy other sect of Christians down the street that you disagree with. YOUR PERSONAL BELIEF. What faults does YOUR Jew-God possess?
I'll tell you, my White-Gods have plenty of faults. But, my White-Gods aren't considered infallible to begin with.
