The guy in this picture is Thomas Sankara. He was a socialist by any definition of the word but he was also an ultra nationalist. He was killed at age 37 after this exchange with the french president:

To translate, he is telling the French president in the 1980's, PUBLICLY, that France is allowing war criminals (jews) to roam freely in Europe while France was criticizing Burkina Faso for their reforms. What reforms was this man pushing? A unified African Federation which would have cancelled all debt they owed to the west.
The French president was stammering around after hearing that and saying that Thomas should not be "cutting so deep" in public.
