Controversial opinion, national socialism has returned and essentially russia and china are different forms of national socialism. Chinese communism as it is today doesn't resemble maoism or marx's theories, it is a unique fusion of government and economic forms. To those who arent in the know I refer to china's "economic zones" essentially rural china is still under communism and total state planning while the Metropolitan areas are in a semi planned economy but society at large is under social direction of the state. It's certainly more controlling than 19th century national socialism, Russia's national socialism is more relaxed than peace time national socialism from the 19th century. But there is certainly state economic planning and control over corporations.
