Tofu dregs are best dregs! Too bad - they were really close to closure of the main span. Don't see a lot of trusses like this constructed any more.
May be true, but shit products yield bad results, even with good engineering.
The fact that the other half of the bridge remained unscathed tends to support that the bridge was engineered well. Balanced cantilever construction of massive trusses like this is fraught with potential pitfalls - particularly with regard to the temporary supports/anchorages used to balance and support construction until the span is completed and closed. To view an early successful example of this bridge type, do a brief search for the Firth of Forth railway bridge in Scotland.
Chinese steel is almost unworkable.
