I personally don't understand the issue with decline in numbers , it's an island. Humans do best in smaller numbers that don't outpace resources.

I think you are projecting way to far into the future.
The robots they are talking about are more likely trained AI designed to give a diagnostic to people. Thus saving time for nurses and doctors to deal with patients that need real medical assistance.
