I didn't hear that, but the owner lives on Paki Rape Island, not a free country. I don't think he knew what he was getting into and had to start censoring almost immediately to avoid prison.
Can't speak for who the owners are but another possible explanation is that certain groups figured out a way to strong-arm the owners into compliance. You know, especially at a time when "dangerous speech" and "incitement" is suddenly at the forefront of everything, where DC imposed martial law on the basis of zip ties and funny hats.
Could be the same thing that happened to Voat.
