This is why I won’t use most common software packages. I won’t do anything with a subscription or if it requires me to put an app on my phone to activate. It’s unnecessary and annoying. They’re just trying to make a buck off something you already paid for. The car and every accessory was paid for. You should pay for maintenance and repairs, not planned obsolescence. I drive an ancient car and have no desire to get a new one. I keep my cars for a long time, taxes and the cost to register a car are so high that I factor that into the car’s cost and it’s rarely worth it, so I keep the old one.

It won't be illegal and there won't be any lawsuit. There doesn't need to be. Just don't buy the car. I've been saying this for years now. If people refuse to buy cars that have this subscription garbage they will have no choice but to abandon the practice. People are stupid though and they will keep buying it. They will sign the agreement and they will have no case in court.
