LOL I'm very much into the analytical side of it, but the history is a fun subject for me. I'm mostly just doing the technical work at the site. Someone had to step up to get all those snippets he'd been posting for years and preserve them.
Strangely, the site's already getting a fair amount of traffic. It greatly exceeds expectations and far exceeds other new sites in that area and in many other areas. Excluding all the bots and spiders and whatnot, it gets like 50 visitors per day. Some 4200ish pages have been displayed in the past month - to real people.
It's pretty neat. But, I'm biased.
It is neat ... I'm just not a fan type guy - LOL. COF loves that stuff and enjoys publishing it. Good for him. And great for you helping him get it rolling. Don't let my 'bah humbug' attitude bum ya out ... you guys are doing a cool thing. It just isn't mine. I like history, too ... but just not entertainment history - LOL
Oh, you won't turn us off from it. It's quite fun and has a wider appeal than I think either of us expected. COF has expressed a kick out of seeing the stats that tell 'em where all the visitors come from.
I basically format and schedule the articles (in like one large session) and they then publish themselves, once per day. LOL It's not like I'm sitting there hitting publish and writing 'em up each moment. There's also a ton of his existing work to get the site started with, so it might turn into an interesting community. We shall see!
And, you're not obligated to like it. I just figured I'd share 'cause you might find the two of us doing the project interesting and/or amusing. We goats (or is it poaler bears) are productive!
Do you have pages on your own specialty ... the guitar? This would be a great place to integrate that into that site.
