Holy fucking balls... I'd absolutely hate to have a huge lifespan. I don't want to live forever! Hell no... I'm not yet finding myself bored, but I imagine I would be eventually. Even more important, it'd be nice to get out of the way and let new ideas be tried out and let other folks have my resources.

Man, I dread living a long time. If I make it another decade, I'm pretty good with it. I've had a great life. I've done fun things. I've accomplished all my important goals. I've been everywhere I really wanted to go - except India and I plan on putting that in my schedule within the next couple of years.

And yes, this sentiment holds true even if I had an ideal body, didn't risk mental enfeeblement, or things like that. Though I do sort of worry that I'll lose my mental acuity. If that happens, it's time for this old man to go 'hunting on the ice floes' or something.

Absolutely agree. I've had a great life, too. Enjoyed it for the most part and successfully accomplished things I never dreamed as a boy I'd do. Like you, I'm happy and content to go onto life's next great mystery.

Oh, man... I sure as shit hope there's no afterlife. I don't see any evidence to suggest there is one, but damned is it going to suck for me if there is. The closest I come to believe in an afterlife is that my atoms will be used again, perhaps in new life. They may eventually become parts of another star, and that's pretty awesome - though I'm pretty sure I'll be completely disassociated with 'em, 'cause I'm dead.

LOL - I never think of afterlives so to speak either. I do like the star idea though ... I could be one of the thousand points of light.
