It's not a car, it's a plane.

Yeah, I was going back and forth on where to put the link - LOL. Maybe Technology would've been better.

Flying cars are almost, but not quite, the stupidest possible idea in the history of stupid ideas.

They're absolutely the stupidest idea in the history of transportation - even dumber than a sailboat made out of sheets of paper towels!

If you don't believe me... Watch people drive in just two dimensions. Adding a third is right out of the question! ;-)

Everything's computerized nowadays old friend - LOL. They'll be guided by ground control and flown by AI. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

LOL I've been shaking my head about this idea since I was a wee lad and we used to think our future would really have stuff like that - and in our lifetimes. We were pretty naive back then, to say the least.

It pretty much seemed like a horrible idea, even at that age. Later, I'd work with traffic modeling and see the actual numbers, causes, and read (or conduct) research on driving habits. Oh, hell no... No, the last thing I want (or close to the last thing I want) is Aunt Betty tooling around in a flying car. Aunt Betty can barely function in a parking lot and sure as shit shouldn't be dealing with elevation and having to monitor additional traffic control.

Shit, Aunt Betty shouldn't even be allowed to drive.

But we live in an entirely different age. Aunt Betty just gets in and rides in the future.

I learned a long time ago I was never getting my flying car, as advertised in circa 70s Popular Science ... oh how I wanted one - LOL ... but I see no barriers in place for a future controlled version. It's nothing more than a guided drone moving people from one place to another with ease.
