I found this in a with two examples from Democrat run US cities. I can only imagine what you would find in San Francisco.

Not surprised. Stayed in a Vancouver youth hostel decades ago. It was sketchy and full of druggies. Hid my cash in my underwear when I went to sleep. Got out of there next morning.

Sorta but different. Very few black people, or guns. Also vancouvers junkies are compressed into a few blocks.

I'd be afraid to remain by the Oakland bart station in the dark, but not at main and hastings
